The Beatles
The Beatles were an English rock band that formed in Liverpool
in 1960. Also known as the Fab Four, the band consisted of;
- John Lennon (Various Guitars, Piano, and Vocals)
- Paul McCartney (Various Guitars, Piano, Vocals, and Violin)
- George Harrison (Vocals, Various Guitars, and Sitar)
- Ringo Starr (Vocals, Drums, and Percussions)
The Beatles are considered the best selling band ever.With over 1.7 Billion records
sold worldwide. Between 1962 and 1970 they recorded 12 studio released albums, 13 extended
plays and 22 singles. I enjoy pretty much all of the Beatles music,below is a short list of
three of their top selling albums,and a brief review;
- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
- Released on 1st June, 1967, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the band's eighth
album became the soundtrack to the "summer of love" but its appeal is timeless.
- Abbey Road
- Released on Sept. 26, 1969, the album was George Harrison’s time to shine.
His song “Something” was truly mine as well as most peoples favorite!
- The Beatles, also known as the "White Album"
- Released on 22 November 1968. A double album, its plain white sleeve has no graphics
or text other than the band's name embossed. Hence the nickname "The White Album".
Although I enjoyed it On release, The Beatles received mixed reviews from music journalists.
Most critics found its satirical songs unimportant and apolitical amid a turbulent political
and social climate, although some praised Lennon and McCartney's writing.
